VISUAL MEMORY AS A DETERMINANT OF COMMUNICATIVE AND LEARNING COMPETENCIES IN PUPILS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT ABSTRACT: This submitted work concentrates on visual perception, especially on visual memory and related attention in children and pupils with hearing impairment, which from the theoretical point of view represents the most important compensatory sense for this group of people. The main part of the submitted paper consists in presenting the results of a research survey observing the levels of visual perception and attention in children and pupils in the age group 6 to 8 years old, as well as on comparing them with results achieved by a group of hearing children and pupils of the same age range. We chose four subtests focused on the current state of visual memory and attention. These subtests constitute a part of two standardized tests. The following analysis of the gained data was used to validate our hypotheses regarding the influence of the compensatory mechanism applied when processing visual inputs by people with hearing impairment existing on the level of the central nervous system. Furthermore, the paper provides processed and commented data gained from questionnaires destined for teachers. These questionnaires pursue the evaluation of communicative and learning competencies of the tested study...

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to analyse time management methods and their application in secondary education. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on different time management methods, which are available to teachers and pupils in secondary education. Special attention is paid to the representation of this topic in the Framework Educational Programs (FEPs) for basic education, Gymnasium and secondary vocational education. The practical part deals with how teachers and pupils use these methods. Teachers are also asked how they pass their knowledge of time management to their pupils. The research is realized in the form of semi- structured interviews with teachers and psychologists. The interviews showed that time management is not systematically taught in schools. The result of this diploma thesis is a description of useful methods and recommendations for their practical application in the educational process.

Sobíšková, Ludmila ; Hejlová, Helena (advisor) ; Kargerová, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the topic of the students' learning strategies at a primary school. The strategies are demonstrated at an example of a foreign language. Based on this example, more general rules for using strategies in other areas are being searched. The strategies are understood as specific steps and methods used in the learning process. They are anchored in the curriculum documents, in particular under the learning competence. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on existing literature and it analyses learning styles and strategies of students at a primary school with the focus on a foreign language. The aim of the thesis is to find out to what extent students of the fifth grade use language strategies and what role a teacher's support plays. For the research, the questionnaire "Strategie učení se cizímu jazyku" was used. The thesis is also based on qualitative research consisting of observations and interviews with the teachers. The results show that the fifth-grade primary school students use the foreign language learning strategies to a limited degree. However, the teachers' support has an effect on the usage.
